Danielle D. Sweeney, MD, FAAP

Dr. Danielle Sweeney is a board-certified Urologist with sub-specialty certification in Pediatric Urology. She received her undergraduate degree with honors at Tulane University in New Orleans, also graduating Cum Laude. She also obtained her medical degree in New Orleans at the Tulane University School of Medicine. Dr. Sweeney completed two years of General Surgery training followed by a Urologic Surgery residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. She completed an advanced training fellowship in Pediatric Urology at the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. Her fellowship had a special emphasis on minimally invasive pediatric surgery and advanced kidney stone disease management. Dr. Sweeney has also authored multiple peer reviewed journal articles, book chapters, and scientific presentations in the field of urology and pediatric urology.

Dr. Sweeney was the first pediatric surgeon in Central Texas to use the daVinci Surgical Robot in the pediatric population. She is active in advancing this technology here in Central Texas, and is excited to bring her minimally invasive surgery expertise to the children of Central Texas.

Dr. Sweeney was named one of Austin’s Top Doctors for Pediatric Urology in 2013 (Austin Monthly Magazine) and Texas Super Doctors Rising Star (Texas Monthly Magazine) in 2014.

Dr. Sweeney loves living in Austin with her husband and two daughters. She enjoys running the trails around the city, playing tennis and taking advantage of the active music and food scene here in Austin.
