Children’s Urology Represented in U.S. News and World Report Hospital Ranking

Austin, TX – June 19, 2013 – The pediatric urology program at Dell Children’s Medical Center of Central Texas was recognized among the top programs in the country for a second year in a row, according to U.S. News & World Report.

The rankings highlight top U.S. children’s hospitals in a variety of medical specialties. The Dell Children’s program, led by Children’s Urology specialists, ranked No. 41 out of 179 U.S. children’s hospitals in the specialty of pediatric urology, an improvement from last year’s rank of No. 49.

“The Dell Children’s urology program deserves high praise,” said Health Rankings Editor Avery Comarow. “The ranking shows the dedication and expertise that Dell Children’s brings to the care of children who need those qualities the most.”

U.S. News introduced the Best Children’s Hospitals rankings in 2007 to help families of sick children find the best medical care available. The rankings offer families an exclusive look at quality-related information at the individual hospital level.

Said Jose Cortez, MD, president of Children’s Urology and Dell Children’s urology section chief, “This acknowledgement and progress is a reflection of our commitment to provide the highest quality urology care to children in Central Texas and beyond.”

Other Children’s Urology pediatric urologists include:
• George M. Seremetis, MD
• Danielle D. Sweeney, MD
