7 Tips To Avoid the Cold & Flu

Tis the season for flu and cold. During this time of year when the temperature drops, people tend to stay indoors which allow viruses to more easily spread.

While colds and flu can have some similar symptoms, flu tends to be more serious and include fever, headache, chills, body aches and fatigue. Unlike a cold, the flu can last more than a few days and can be serious for young children, the elderly or persons with compromised immune systems.

The flu season generally begins in October and lasts through March, with the heaviest number of cases in January and February. Recently the CDC announced that the number of flu cases have reached epidemic levels, so we’re expecting a tough season this year.
